Dr. Chayanika Basu holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), an M.A. in Criminology and Police Administration, and an LL.M. She began her professional journey by practicing law in Kolkata and later transitioned into academics. Dr. Basu has taught Business Law and Labour Law at several reputed MBA institutions in Pune and served as an Assistant Professor at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University for five years.
She earned her Ph.D. from Savitribai Phule Pune University, specializing in Criminal Law, Criminology, and Penology. Her academic contributions include participation in numerous seminars and conferences, along with authorship of several book chapters.
In recognition of her research, she was awarded the 1st Best Research Paper Award by Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, for her presentation at the Virtual Summit on Gender, Data & Technology held on February 16–17, 2024.
Currently, Dr. Basu serves as an Assistant Professor at the Balaji School of Law, Sri Balaji University, Pune. She is known for her expertise, research acumen, and commitment to legal education.
